Hot room and hot track
Posted by UNIONPACIFIC4018 on Monday, June 20, 2005 7:18 PM
Well after much coaxing from my wife I have decided not to take my chainsaw to my layout. I am going to rip it down to the bench work and start over. I discussed heat with a buddy of mine since his club layout is in a large warehouse without a/c and he suggested some stuff. Since his layout is in the same metroplex he would be suffereing the same problems.
So here I go again wish me luck
other wise its going to look like one of those failed projects on monster garage

Good for you...and thx to her!! What I'd like to know now is, are you excited again? Now that you have decided to have another go, are you energized?

Not sure if excitement is stirring since I have to rip down a years worth of work.
But at least I can start over.

The hard part is tearing down the old. The fun part is building the new. Just keep thinking about that new layout you're going to build as you tear down the old one. Have fun, and good luck!

Well it was like a scene out of a godzilla movie I ripped up track left and right. I pulled all of my bus wire out. Just a little more to go then I can redesign the bench work for the new layout. Its amazing how fast it is to tear down compared to how long it took to put in place.

Yeah, it gives one pause when we see how fast what took hundreds of hours to build can be reduced to scrap.

I sincerely hope you have a much better time of it this time around. If nothing else, you will continue to capitalize on well developed skills in making benchwork and laying track.

But, UP, I would feel blessed and happy that my best friend thought enough of me to encourage me to try something, at which I felt a failure, one more time. Give her a squeeze from all of us.
