Double Crossover Wired for DCC
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, June 12, 2005 7:33 PM
Hope some one can help - I have a small layout that I have just converted to DCC, everything woorks great except where I have a Walther (Shinohara) double Crossover. It shorts out when I cross over between the parrell tracks. Can someone give me "simply" instructions on how to wire this? Or would I be better off scrapping the Double crossover?

What are the parallel tracks?

Do you have siding or yard with parallel tracks and then the double crossover between them?

Do you have double track, like a double track loop and have the double crossover between the double tracks?

Do you have a single track loop that you have squeezed together to form a "dogbone" shape, with what looks like double track in the middle and a loop at each end?

The first two situations are something to do with the internal wiring in the switch. The third situation is different. In that case you have created a "reversing track" with the crossovers and need to wire things different on your tracks.
