need some help with a scenic divider.......
Posted by geepers on Sunday, April 10, 2005 1:58 PM
hello everyone, i just purchased (2) of the Walthers Cornerstone background building kits to use on my layout. the problem is that i dont have enough space between my backdrop and track to install the buildings. i was considering makeing another smaller backdrop out away from my big backdrop so i could install my background buildings. has anyone ever done anything like this? how big would the smaller background need to be? or would it be made to fit the buildings. is there any way to do this so the smaller background would look more natural and not stand out so bad? i guess this would really be more like a scenic divider than a backdrop? any information is really appreciated! thanks in advance![B)]

I've never tried the separate backdrop approach you suggested, but it sounds like it would be hard to "blend in" to your existing backdrop.

Have you thought of using flats instead of the background buildings? They're just the thickness of the front wall and you may have enough room for them vs. the background buildings. You could even use the front walls of the background buildings for flats.
