Need a Second Pair of Eyes

Was wondering if anyone had the book "Seven Step-by-Step HO Railroads" by Atlas which shows the Granite Gorege and NOrthern (Atlas HO-28)? I'm at the point of cookie cutting the plywood and I'm totally stuck on one piece. Maybe someone has built it or if you've got the book, I need a second pair of eyes. On page 33, the grid description, there shows a piece "F" which is adjacent to piece "Q." "Q" is notched and butts up against "F," but "F" isn't notched. Well this is where the river goes as shown on the layout diagram (pages 40-41). In fact, that bloody piece on "F" is marked w/ hatches on the diagram, though it doesn't explain it very well. If "F" isn't notched, how does the river fit in? There's a description on the bottom of page 34-35 in regards to this, but I can't figure out what they're talking about. Even if haven't built this layout and you have the book, maybe someone can help me figure this out. I'm beating my head into the wall and I'm doing severe damage to the plaster wall!! Any help would be appreciated. Steve [:0]

Hi Steve,
Try calling your LHS. I am sure that my local HobbyTown USA (Kennesaw, GA - NW of Atlantis) has this book. I actually think a customer was showing me this layout yesterday; but since I won't be back at the store until this Wed this is all the advice I can offer for now.
Good luck,

I've got the book, just trying to figure the plan out, in fact I bought the last one that any of the LHSs' had here in Phoenix. Trying to see if anyone else has access to the plan and can figure this thing out. Thx
