After doing some research, I like the features of the Prodigy Advance, seems simple to use and has alot of things that I was looking for...

is there anything else I need to for it? ANy special decoders or this & that?

no you don't need anything else until you want to expand with extra controllers or whatever, I use whatever brand decoder I get on sale.

This is one of the features that attracted me to the PA. Nope, nothing else needed. Any decoder will work with it. In 5-10 minutes I was playing with my trains. The only programming I did at first was the engine address. Then, slowly learned tweaking settings for speed etc. Works like a charm...
