Modern vehicles for an N scale layout.

I've been farting away at my modern day N scale layout based in the Buffalo area. Other than a little Grumman mail truck I picked up from my local hobby shop, I've been struggling to find modern N scale vehicles. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I figured you guys would have some ideas. I was thinking about 3d printing a few as well.

I, too, had a hard time finding modern N scale cars and trucks.

Atlas had some modern pickup trucks at one time.  You can still find them online at certain railroad stores.

Kato offered some modern semi trucks that looked great.  I think you can still find some online.

Be prepared to open your checkbook for any of these -- they aren't cheap.

Shapeways also offers some 3D printed modern N scale vehicles.

 

I was able to purchase this pack of 50 n scale cars for under $15.00.  They are a great source, but realize they are mostly the same car, just painted different colors.  That won't matter unless you're picky.

 

 

Good luck!  It took me several years to get the N cars and trucks I have.

But they ARE perfect for Red Caboose autorack loads or modeling an autorack loading facility, since you'd have lots of the same model car there anyway.
