Lift-Up Bridge
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 11:50 PM
Can anyone tell me how to build the lift-up bridge shown on page 92 of Great Model Railroads 2005? I can't figure out what kind of hinge to use that will provide clearance for the tracks as you raise the bridge.

Havent seen GMR 2005, but know a flush fitting kitchen cabinet door heinge will work. Using it it will have the hinge pivot point above the track.

Hope this helps...John

Have you tried your local Home Depot or Lowes? Have you done a search on Google for Amerock(the article appears to have mispelled the name of the company)? Don't waste your time going to their web site; it just shows door pulls. Check out www.woodworker.com/Amerock.htm

Ernie, I think the answer above may work, flush fitting cabinet hinge, if I remember right you have a different kind of hinge right now. Anyway I will keep looking to see if can find more help. Tom Watkins
