Where and how do you use static grass? I bought a bottle of it and need to know how to use it.

I use Scenic Express. The static grass is in a lot of different foams is is wonderful. Check the link below to see some shots of it used on my layout.

One way... i like to add a lot of matte medium or diluted white glue onto the surface to which you want to apply it. Then either use a pinch between the fingers and rub the fingers together to let it fall onto the surfaces. (about 1-2 inches away) OR if it is a bigger area, soak the surface with your glue mixture, the shake the bottle well to cause static, then open the smaller holes and more or less squeeze the bottle to blow if putting it on a vertical surface. Or hold the bottlw upside down and shake it on.

I prefer to squeeze the bottlw to allow it to blow on after shaking it in almost all areas. I tried the magnet around the red lid, but it did not work as well as shaking and squeezing.

DO NOT try to put it down and then soak it or apply glues like you would regular foam. It will simply fall over. And be glued down flat. Do not expet it all to be standing either when done. Most of it will and that give the overall effect. It is terrific.

I have not tried Woodland scenics as i like the mixtures from Scenic Express too much.

Hope this helps.

Scenic Express sells a Static GUN. It looks like a hair blower with a bowl attached. It's supposed to be used to apply static grass over large or hard-to-reach areas.
