Today I went on the hunt for some Tortoise controllers. Wow. There are so many new models!
Did find the old #800-6012. I used to connect these via a terminal block to power, toggle switch etc.
What's the benefit of the new and of course more expensive ones?
Thanks again for your help, patience and guidance - lots of new stuff to re-learn
Tom
PS: I'm on mobile and finding things that don't seem to work. Like I'm not receiving notifications when someone comments on a thread . I've emailed support.
Tom, not understanding your question? Circuitron still only makes one Tortise? There have been a few very minor changes to it, but they are still basically the same?
There are now other brands making similar products.
As for your mobile device and this site - good luck - it's not very mobile device friendly, and many features do not work correctly or reliably on any platform, mobile or desktop.
Sheldon
You just need two wires to control a Tortoise. You also need a reversable DC power supply/control.
Ignore the SPDT lever switches. That is for my custom power routing.

Living the dream.
Maybe you're thinking of the add-on boards such as the Hare made by DCC specialties?

In essence a DCC decoder that can be addressed for turnout control from a DCC throttle or integrated network control.
Or Circuitron's SMAIL Slow Motion Actuator with Integrated Logic, pretty much the same thing, an integral DCC decoder to enable further automation of turnout control.

Good Luck, Ed
Thanks Sheldon. Yes. My question was not clear enough. I saw many circuitrons that had what looked like add-ons - referenced below. Thanks again
Thanks Kevin. Saving that picture!
That is a great idea to "deleting" signature. Mobile version strikes again. I'm not able to erase code in settings but I can probably replace it.
Yes. Thank you Ed.

I "deleted" my signature when I was having trouble posting.
It is going to return at some point.
