The Rhine River Valley Railroad
Posted by RRVRR on Monday, December 6, 2021 11:17 PM

Hello @ all,

I slowly getting to the point where it is worth showing what I started 6 years ago. My first train layout I built, it was always a dream since I was five years old and had a pre-made 2x4 plastic layout from the German company Noch with Maerklin Tracks. I never liked the third rail, was strange to me since the real one 200ft. away from the house didn't had it. Anyway, when we moved to the States 14 years ago I finally got the space for. Instead of makeing pictures I was lazy and did a video, where I'm not good at it. So, sorry for the shaking. Hope you like the odd German Layout in a US model train forum. I value any feedback so feel free to do so.

Hello All,

Guten Tag.

I have taken that train from Frankfurt to Köln. What a beautiful journey.

Your video didn't come through.

Unfortunately, you cannot post a video directly to these forums. You need to use a third-party video site and then provide a link to that site.

I look forward to seeing your modeling endeavors.

Hope this helps.

As someone  who post a U.K. layout here it would be nice to see yours.

This is strange since I posted the link but when I look at the source code now it is missing part of it. Unfortunately I have no feature to edit my post or at least I do not see it. Secondly, I have to wait until someone approves it. A preview of what I like to post would be also helpful because then I would have noticed it.

Anyway, thank you all for the warm welcome - I will give it another try. Smile

Outstanding work and so much progress to show in six short years. My layout is twenty-six years in the making and isn't much farther along than yours!

Fantastic details BowBowBow

Bravo!

Thank you for posting your video, RRVRR!  Very nice work!  And you have the posaunen (trombones) on the front row of the military band where they're supposed to be. YesYes

Beautifully done.  I was going to remark on all the details I liked, but that would take all day.  The level of detail is just right.  Sometimes a well detailed scene looks too crowded.  Your's doesn't - great job,

Ray

RRVRR,

You have done such excellent work.  If you take some photos of your layout, please consider posting some on the Weekend Photo Fun thread.

It is a different thread each week, starting on Fridays.

That thread is for all skill levels, and the photos can be about anything on the layout.

edit:  I forgot how to make a live link to another forum thread.  I know it doesn't work like a link to another website.

We all just like seeing pictures of other modelers' layouts!

This is a one of the few animatins I add to my layout. It is based on a Faller kit that was available for purchase years ago. It's in HO.

RRVRR,  Good to see a childhood dream realized with such a superb layout.  Enjoyed the aerial tour of your European countryside and landmarks.  And what a dazzling sight your dance club night scene.

Thanks & Regards,  Peter
