split gear locating question

These are two older bachmann n scale 0-6-0.  Cannt find the older gear design from bachmann directly.  and Ebay is still completely useless since they have yet to fix the model railroad catagory. where are some other places I could look for replacements

You might try Northwest Short Line, which you can contact HERE

NVSRR
These are two older bachmann n scale 0-6-0.

Way back in the day, when I was in High School, I had a Bachmann 0-6-0 and a Bachmann 2-6-2 in N scale. Both of these had gears on all locomotive drivers, and the side rods were only attached to the first and third driver.

Is this how yours are set up?

If so, you are looking at a drive line that is 40 years old since introduction. Your best, and maybe only, option would be to buy donor locomotives for parts.

Maybe someone on Shapeways makes them. There are lots of options for Bachmann HO scale 4-8-4 gears there. I have never looked at the N scale section of Shapeways.

Hi there. I can't see another option than finding a donor engine. On Ebay, have you tried entering this as a querie:

n scale bachmann 0-6-0

Worked for me.

Interesting experience with the N scale Bachmann 0-6-0:

I found they ran better with the drivers completely out of quarter. Since all drivers are geared, the quartering means nothing. When I had one apart I assembled it with the crank pins aligned from side to side so they were always moving the same direction together. It ran more smoothly like that.

Since you can only see one side of the locomotive at a time, no one needs to know.
