At lest with thicker boards. The thinner half inch to one inch seem to be straighter to the ends. <br /> <br />I haven't even begun my railroad yet - still working on drying the basement. But I use this stuff all the time in my work for sculpting, and have noticed the difference. Might be worth a look to see if you could top the 2" with a 1/2" peice?
