Try to control it as best you can, and most importantly: avoid impulse buying. Asking "Do I really need this?" will will proabably save you hundreds of dollars that would be spend on things you wouldn't use. As for your layout, the more time you spend on it in the designing stage, the more likely you will be happy with it when you finally get to build and use it.
