guardrails
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, January 14, 2005 6:30 PM
My layout is HO and I would like to have guardrails for some of my roads. I was just wondering what people did for this. Are they easily built or can you buy them already made? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

A company called Pikestuff makes them and there pretty good looking if you paint and weather them.

[#ditto] i have them too, easy to assemble and paint, very realistic.
Being old is when you didn't loose it, it's that you just can't remember where you put it.

aburke252,
The Pikestuff guardrails are great. [:)] I intend to use a couple near RR crossings on my layout. But, if you need a lot of guardrail you might go broke. I don't know how much guardrail you need, but on my BRVRR I needed more than 7-feet. [:(]
I made mine from Evergreen strip stock. They turned out pretty good. For the cost of about eighteen inches of Pikestuff guardrail I got what I needed and still have enough materials left to do it again, almost.[:D]
There are photos on my website of my home-made guardrails on my highway viaduct. The link is in my signature, pu***he Layout Button.[:D][:D]

Remember its your railroad
