LastspikemikeDurabond is drywall mud. It's a setting type but it is still just a drywall mud.
According to the information on the bag, it can be used as drywall mud, but it also warns that it is difficult to sand. It also states on the bag that it is a setting-type patching plaster.
However, it's always good to hear an expert's opinion.

Lastspikemike Apparently it's a type of plaster of Paris. The stuff we now use to patch drywall is more like spackling compound, not suitable for scenery. I use ordinary drywall mud to patch drywall unless the damage is very slight and not a big hole. For scenery, plaster products, Hydrocal or setting type drywall mud would all be worth trying out. Hydrocal would be strongest unless you use the lightweight product.
