N Scale PECO Switch Machines
Posted by corsiar on Thursday, January 16, 2020 12:12 AM

Does anyone here use PECO N scale track with their under mount switch machines? I cant find any pictures with these switch machines on finished layouts.

On a finished layout, with the track properly ballast, you won´t see the Peco switch motors.

I've been installing a lot of these lately. I have HO scale, but they are exactly the same as N scale.

Are you looking how to wire them? You have to wire a common ground to two terminals on one side, ground are purple wires.

They are kind of tricky to get the poles through the small hole in the switch. But once you've done it a few times you'll get the hang of it.

Following, as I am planning on Peco C55 for my yard.  Most will be used manual, but I am considering the arrival/departure tracks to be remote.  The main is all Kato (which joins to Peco C55 nicely).

Mounting on foam board is what caught my eye.  I will be on 2" foam on top of 1/2" ply.
