HO Scale Layout Expansion
Posted by Outsailing86 on Friday, December 20, 2019 7:39 PM

I'm currently building a stagin yard extension for my Heart of Georgia layout, but I am eyeing up an extension. I'd like a 4x8 sheet (for storage underneath), but I'm struggling with a concept. Is anyone familiar with the Metro Belt and Terminal (April 2001 MR). This might work, but is there too much curves? My layout is 1996 Conrail Northeast Ohio. My other idea is a LDE of Berea, OH.. but I only have one EB and one WB train running.

I'm confused a bit, but it sounds like you're considering replacing the 8 x 8 open pit HOG layout to an island layout with an appendage.

The MB looks like an urban industrial switching layout where you'd probably want to run shorter cars because of the frequent and narrow curves.  So if you're okay with that than I think this plan has a lot to offer.

BTW, weren't we'all talking about what to do with a 14x20 space and curve radius was a big part of the discussion?
