Analysis Paralysis
Posted by Outsailing86 on Saturday, November 23, 2019 9:51 AM

does anyone else suffer from this?

Lately it’s been pretty tough. A leg injury has me pretty limited on what I can do. I’ve learned that my duckunder, Heart of Georgia trackplan layout is becoming a problem.

Then I open the Jan 2020 MR, and see a plan for Wingate, IN. Wow, that’s an idea! A simple 24” x 8’ layout I can do some switching or train watching. Hmm

This doesn't sound like an analysis problem; more like a difficulty choosing problem.

My problem along those lines started with the little red-haired girl in sixth grade. At the time I was involved with a cute blonde with a ponytail, but the little redhead had braces . . . hmmm

Good luck.

Lots of people suffer from this in their day to day life. Dwelling on things does not solve anything. Build it and if you don't like it, build something else. Cowboy

We had a really bad storm come through in 2006, there were trees down everywhere. The next morning I would say 2/3rds of us in the area walked out of our houses with our chainsaws and got to work and the other third just stared at the devastation for days. It was a great study in the human condition.

Like Captain Kirk said in one of the Star Trek movies when no one could decide on a course of action, "let me do something!"Laugh

My solution to analysis paralysis was to go to the lumber yard and buy wood for benchwork.  Just looking at the wood made me want to build, not just plan.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
