New use for Lounge Chair webbing

Found a old package of chair webbing from the 70's in my garage. So I thought it would make great support for making hills. I wanted a gentle slope above my cliffs that have been blasted out for the rail lines. It was super easy to use' just a staple gun and scissors. Also free.

Nice idea if you can still find that old webbing, maybe lots of folks still have some stashed away.

I have used the sticky-back Fiberglas^® mesh drywall tape. Not free but it also makes a handy support for plaster hard-shell scenery methods.

Yes that drywall tape does good also. Sometimes yard sells have that old chair webbing. I have been looking at it in my garage for all these years and never thought of a use for it. My dad said never throw away scrap wood or stuff' some day you will find a use for it. I save all the end piece's from 1x4 2x4 ect in 5 gallon buckets' they always come in handy.

LION says be careful putting that stuff closer to the tracks. Some finishes tend to shrink and try to derail the trains.

 

What is wrong with REAL ROCKS foy your cliff. If you dont have the right kind in your back yard, you can get some nice rocks from a landscaping establishment. Break them with a hammer (works best in the hot sun) and mount them on the layout.
