Hi again
Their is a Layout that I am really, really fascinated with, and it is called the Apple Valley Branch and it is by Green Frog, I sooooo would love to recreate it in N scale (I still would like to get it on DVD, I might soon actually since something has come up, a train show.... so I can get supplies from there) I'm wondering how much track would I need and how much would the track cost alone? plus how much would the scenery cost? to make it as accurate as possible, plus how big an N scale layout would be? thanks for any help with the project...
Wow – you certainly seem to be going in a lot of different directions. I believe that the Green Frog folks used Jim Hediger’s track plan from the April 1995 Model Railroader. (Like most plans from that era, it’s not in the database.)
The original overall layout in HO is 6’X10’, so proportionally in N scale it would nominally be about 3’4”X5’6”. A little larger would help with grades and curve radii.
To determine the components needed for N scale, one would need to re-lay it out to scale and generate a list of components from that design.
Good luck with your layout(s).
