It's out of stock. Everywhere. Modeltrainstuff doesn't have any flex track. Midwest Model Railroad doesn't have any either. On Walthers it says "no info from vendor" which is not a good sign.
The customline curved turnouts they got in stock about 2 weeks ago, are already out of stock and the lefts (which are the only ones I need) won't be back in stock until the end of the month. I wanted to wait until they're in stock at Modeltrainstuff because their prices are always cheaper. They are still out of stock there as well.
I need roughly 50 pieces of Code 83 flex track with brown ties to finish my layout. I need 3 left handed curved turnouts, the Customline Mark IV ones with the 22" inside radius and 30" outside radius. Does anyone know where I can find these? Can't find them on Ebay because there's only a couple and the shipping is ridiculous -- more expensive than the switch itself. What's going on with Atlas??
EDIT: I decided I will just get the flex track I need for now because the curved turnouts are just to connect passing sidings and the staging yards luckily. So I can at least finish the mainline of the layout and cut in the curved turnouts when they are back in stock. Interesting that now that Atlas flex track is disappearing, Walthers new flex track is coming out and is $10 a piece (twice the price of Atlas). I'm glad I got 75% of the layout done before affordable track started disappearing.

Atlas curved turnouts seem to be produced episodically, meaning they aren't available most of the time, unlike they way Walthers curved turnout used to be available.
Trainworld looks like it has Code 83 flextrack in 1, 10, 25, 100 quantities.

Yeah Trainworld has been a saviour for me. I was stuck for the past 3 weeks until I found some flextrack sold by them. I'm a little nervous if I don't just go ahead and buy the last 50 pieces of track that they will be out of stock when I go to do so. I prefer buying 15-20 pieces so I don't buy more than I need in case I miscalculate. Unfortunately they don't have any curved turnouts and that's my major hangup right now. I need a curved turnout around a narrow corner specifically designed for the turnout because of a lack of space. I can lay the rest of the track after that turnout, but I won't be able to run the whole layout or more importantly test the curved turnout leading to the last leg of the layout until I have the curved turnout installed.
I guess I'll just have to wait 3 weeks which isn't a big deal. I just had the layout planned in specific ways so I could have it running 100% and working on scenery by the end of January, which now looks like it will be more like the beginning of March. It just seems weird that there's such a lack of track. I have a friend who has a big layout and he was expanding his yard, uses PECO track, and he's now out of track. He found one more 25-piece box of PECO track, and now he's track searching anywhere he can as well.

Oh no, not another shortage of track. You guys are scaring me, so I had to stop by the LHS and bought 10 pieces of Atlas #500, 36'' code 83 brown tie NS @ $5.59+tax each. LHS still has 15 sticks in stock yet. Looks like a lot of Atlas #500 track for sale on ebay.
I asked the guys at Atlas at the Amherst show and was told various track was due in March, including Code 100 curved switches. Now there were other rumors going around prior to the show that Lionel had placed a huge order overseas with the same factory Atlas and othermanufacturers used. Supposedly paid for the 'priority' to get their goods sooner. Time will tell...

Our club used Peco Code 83 curved turnouts with Atlas Code 83 track and it worked out very well. Trainworld appears to have them in stock but they aren't cheap.
