Looking for the best, or best all-round "glue" for repaining parts on engines and for building plastic model kits? Is Goo any good?

For plastic to plastic I would not use Goo.  I would use a plastic solvent cement like Testors liquid plastic cement.

Depends on what materials your parts and your engine are made of.  Goo can be used for dissimilar parts like plastic on metal.  Be sure it's fresh and use it sparingly.  You could also use an epoxy.

Gel CA is quick.  Maybe not the strongest or longest lasting.  Epoxy and contact cement do a decent job for some applications.  Gluing styrene parts in kits is best performed with at least some MEK (methyl-ethyl ketone), which most model glues contain.

I use Testor's liquid for plastic to plastic, and CA for metal to metal or for dissimilar materials.

Aileen's Tacky Glue is great for temporary bonding like sticking figures to a sidewalk, or for putting a printed interior scene in a structure.  Canopy Cement is great for putting clear window material into window frames.

I used it to repair an ornament, as I needed something glass clear, and I was out of clear hot glue sticks.

It worked great!  and it dried to a hard, clear fix.
