HOn3 Layouts and Track
Posted by JohnCGay on Monday, October 29, 2018 5:48 PM

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the forum, so I apologize if there's already a forum on this topic.  I'm adding an HOn3 line to my HO layout and have discovered that the track widths for PECO turnouts is smaller (more narrow) that for Micro Engineering flex track.  Has anyone seen this type of problem?  I suppose I could standardize on one manufacturer, but am afraid any rolling stock I buy may not work with it.  Your thoughts?

Hi there. Is it possible that you are mixing HOn3 with HOn30 (or HOe) track?

That seems to be the OP´s issue!

HOn3 track has a spacing of 10.5mm between the rails, while Peco OO9 or HOn30 track has a spacing of 9mm.

You can´t mix them.

Thanks, Everyone. It appears that I have some PECO 009 in with the Micro Engineering flex track that is true HOn3.  Bummer.  I'll have to switch to some other source for my turnouts.
