Peco Turnout - Point Rail Spring
Posted by richhotrain on Saturday, April 21, 2018 5:12 AM

Peco turnouts are spring loaded. Pretty cool since you can throw the points with your finger instead of installing a manual ground throw.

I had removed the springs on several of my Peco turnouts when I installed them with Tortoises.

Yesterday, I replaced the springs on several of the Peco turnouts, but I have somehow lost one spring. Anyone know of a place where replacement springs can be purchased?

According to the product information, these adapter plates for other turnouts come with the over center springs used on the Peco turnouts:

Rich I’ve used .015” piano wire to make Peco springs, can’t tell the difference.  I’ve even converted Atlas Custom Line turnouts to work like the Pecos.

Thanks for the suggestions. I sent an email to Peco, presumably across the Pond. To my surprise, they replied almost immediately and offered to send replacement springs - - no charge. I will take them up on that.
