feedback on layout redesigned
Posted by sktrains on Friday, April 20, 2018 4:20 PM

In the process of building the layout I adjusted the design a couple times  trying and get the best of both worlds, fun for operation and have continuous running  for when people come over and want to see the trains. looking to get some opinions and  suggestions  for some tweaks or adjustments from other people perspective’s before I get to far along

It would be nice to have the operations somewhat prototypical but they don’t have to be,  I don’t want overlook a change that’s easy to make now rather than a major change latter
The layout overview  is its about 10’ x 16’ , multi level (5 in spacing) one main line for when doing operations and 2 sidings that can be used as loops for the upper and lower sections for just running trains, 24’’ min radius, #6 turnouts off the main and # 4 and #5 in the yards and industry’s
As of now the lower main and siding for the loop is done and the inclines are done so I would rather not redo those but anything else is up for adjustment yards, siding’s, industry’s, etc.
Hopfully I can get the pics into the form I have read  and followed the  “how to post a pic”  and it dosnt  show the image so i inserted  the direct links aswell

Steve,

Unless we have a link into your dropbox folder, it won't work. I have dropbox and when I click on the link, it says it doesn't exist.

This link works! and I see it is a shared folder where the pics live.  All the Imgur links worked but none of the other dropbox links but this last one.

Got so excited about seeing a dropbox link actually work, I forgot to comment.  A couple of your spurs, the one above the engine facility, the lower classification yard and the one to the right of 7' and 8' are pretty short especially for modern type cars.

Since you have run track through the closet, it is useless as a closet. As a minimum, I would remove the closet door. Unless the closet walls are structural, I would also remove all the wall above the track level and open up that area (assuming the local boss would allow that)
