Layout Concept-Comments?

Hi everyone:
I recently moved to a different home and finally have the room, time, and barely the $$$ to start a layout. I have been lurking off and on for years and reading the mags as well. I have settled on a point-to-point around the wall style that would exist to serve a large paper mill. The operational concept is that this is a short industrial road that connects to a busy Class 1 which passes near the area. The Class 1 would be represented by staging and the industrial line will make runs to the interchange that is located in the staging.
I am modeling in HO and have an area of about 12'x14' to start with, along with a small staging area (probably two tracks about 5' long) in an adjacent area. I have the benchwork up along one 12' wall and have temporarily laid some track to just "run trains" and make sure equipment is in operating order, install and adjust couplers, etc. I will be asking for some help in the future to solve some of the thorny issues that are rearing their head but for now just want to say Hi and ask for any comments on my concept. Thanks.
Jim

Sounds like it has potential--an interchange yard would help justify lots of use of the Class 1 interchange. Would the road simply connect the Class 1 to the paper mill, or would it pick up wood from one end and turn it into paper on the other, with interchange to receive chemicals and ship out paper?
