I operate my 2 1/2' x 5' N scale layout by myself, and I have two staging tracks to stage a pair of locals when I operate it. Basically, the staging represents yards where the locals orginate and return. For a small layout that a single person operates, staging can make that layout operate as a small portion of a bigger system. <br /> <br />---jps
