I have an N scale Atlas code 80 turnout that is shorted out somewhere. Visual inspesction doesn't indicate where the short is, but my multimeter is picking it up. Is there anything I can do to fix or should I just replace it? Thanks
Before you replace it, determine where on the turnout the short occurs. Run a loco throught at the slowest speed to visually determine where the short occurs. '
Does it happen with every loco? Was the turnout previously working OK?

Inspect the turnout all you like, you will not see where the problem is. There are (well, may be) jumpers embedded in the plactic. This may well be the issue if you have a dead short with the turnout on the bench. Take it back and get a new one.
Or as the LION would do: cut it open and find all of the hidden stuff. You will destroy the turn out, but what the heck, it is useless as it is if it is not under warranty.
