I also have a Scenic Ridge layout that I started, 3 years ago! Although I finished it in a couple of weeks, I have still not put in my urban area which is the area immediately to the left of the incline before going into the first tunnel opening. (Assuming your trains run from left to right.) I did extend the track just above the culvert to go to what started out as a place for a round house, but is ending up as a coal industry. My reason for not being able to fini***he rest of the layout is that same as most: not enough time on my hands. Even though I own 250 freights/tanks/gons/etc and 15 engines. I have pictures somewhere on my hard drive, if I find them I will send you a link
