<p>I have been reading this thread with great interest.</p> <p>Over those many moons I have been into model railroading I have come to the conclusion that a backdrop can make or break the appearance of a layout. Quite a lot of the photo realistic backdrops are too crisp to stay in the background, thus dominating the scene. Objects in a distance tend to get blurred, due to haze, but hardly a backdrop takes that into account. Sometimes, hand-painted backdrops work much better, because the have less sharp details.</p> <p><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/Seite-02-02-Bild-003.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/Seite-02-02-Bild-003.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a></p> <p><a href="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/Seite-02-02-Bild-006.jpg"><img src="http://i682.photobucket.com/albums/vv185/SirMadig/Seite-02-02-Bild-006.jpg" alt=" " border="0" /></a></p> <p>The pictures show scenes on one of my former layouts. Isn´t it hard to tell where the scene ends and the backdrop starts?</p>
