I've tried Hob- b tac, but keep falling out
I used contact cement to make about 30 trees a few years ago and they are all still on one piece. Might be worth a try. Be careful though, they use strong solvents, have plenty of ventilation.

I use Alene's Fast Grab Tacky Glue. Cheap, good grab, comes out white and goes clear when dry and no solvent smell. I finished 200 trees last month and worked really well. Will make more this winter the same way. Doug
I use Hob-e-Tac, now for all my trees. I don't use clump foliage, anymore. I switched to Woodland Scenics Poly Fiber and Foliage. I stretch it and attach it to the armature with Hob-e-Tac, and it gives the "airy" impression to the trees. For fuller trees, I sprinkle on some coarse turf after a liberal spraying of Godzilla-hold hairspray.

For Super Trees, Sedem, Queen of the Praire ,etc, any Spray Glue and leaf material gives a nice look. Be sure to spray the glue in a box, it tends to have a very sticky overspray.
Right - Hob-B-Tac isn't the best adhesive for attaching clump foliage. I had the same issues with some of mine so I use Alene's. Have never tried contact cement but if I did, I would use it in a well ventilated area or outdoors - providing it isn't below freezing. Do I hear Polar Vortex???
