DT-400 HANDHELD THROTTLE
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, November 4, 2004 11:56 AM
My DT-400 throttle has been doing something wierd
I will secure the locomtive I desire to run then slowly turn the speed knob to the desired speed. The loco will run but then out of no where it will stop and the display will show 0 mph. Only the left throttle does this not the right one.

i'd suggest calling Digitrax directly and checking with them. I had a problem with a DCS-100 a few months ago. My throttles were losing control of the selected locomotives and the addresses were changing on the displays. They were able to help me confirm the problem over the phone. The unit was years out of warranty. I sent it in and they repaired it for thirty five bucks. They are good people to work with, very helpful and interested in solving customer's problems.

Hope this helps,
Tom Watkins

It is possible that the encoder (speed control knob) is going bad. Had that happen to 2 DT300s. Digitrax has to do the repair as this encoder is much more complicated than the old DT100s were. The old ones I have changed the encoders many times.
