Modeling Commuter Lines
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, October 30, 2004 8:42 PM
Does anyone model commuter lines? Athearn is producing Bombardier cars from major commuter lines. Do you think it is a good idea to operate commuters on a 9x11 oval or only a large straight layout[?]

Thank you[:)]

mr71 - simulating commuter operations, even if only with one station on the layout, would be perfectly acceptible if you could provide some sort of minimal hidden or off-layout staging for these commuter trains to originate from and go to. The trick is simply not to let the trains run around a loop continuously, as this defeats the illusion you are trying to create.
