confused about vertical & horizontal track clearance standard for O gauge

Thanks. Yes I did look at the NMRA tables. Their recommendation did not match my own 'rolling stock on track' measurements for 0-54. For example: the inside and outside the curve horizontal clearances are quite different by my direct mesurement. The NMRA table does not make that distinction. I distrust my interpretation of their data. That's why I post the question.
