The ore dock kit is just the ore dock. It starts with the section where you put a no.4 turnout to go from one track to the two on the dock. If you want a trestle leading to the ore dock (as is normally how it would be done on the prototype) you would need to do that separately. It's not part of the kit.
The ore dock track is all level, otherwise the ore cars would roll off.
Anybody get their latest Walthers mailing? Twelvepacks of ore cars are now $169.00. YIKES! Oil prices are down. Interest rates are down. Business is down. What could possibly account for a price like that? I thought $48.00 a twelvepack was steep when they were first introduced.

Even given the fact that these are brand new models (the Michigan ore cars) that is a bit pricey...the old Minnesota cars are now "only" $99.98 - or they would be if they were in stock. IIRC the Minnesota ones listed at $59.98 when first issued but as always "street value" is usually 20-30% less than that.
BTW I have to wonder if Athearn will now reissue the MDC/Roundhouse ore cars, both of which were based on Michigan ore cars?? The ones I have sold for something like $4.25 each back in the early nineties. They are good cars, ran well even with the plastic wheelsets, and I'm sure could come in at a cost well below Walthers new cars.
