module ideas
Posted by train lover12 on Thursday, March 26, 2009 10:51 PM

i was looking through all my model RR books and magazines when i found a picture with a track layout that fits exactly what I'm looking for.  But with my methods and very limited imagination i couldn't make it fit.  so does anyone have any ideas on how to make it fit without mutilating and deforming it too much?  its a module by the way.  okay, the module cant be longer than 5 feet long and the main line starts and ends 12in from the back all other tracks can be any where but no curves tighter than 12in radius i also like how the main curves near the TT.  also the front can be any shape but no thicker than 30in.

Assuming you are in N scale, the answer is probably no.  The picture is several square miles in size and would cover a 10 x 20 ft area in N scale if you built it full scale.

You will not fit it into a  2.5 x 5 ft area, without huge compromises.

Also look before you leap.  While it looks very picturesque, its not all that great of a design.  There is no siding or run around that I can see.  It has a large engine facility, but no yard.
