tortoise on Atlas or peco?

Trying to figure out what would be better with a tortoise switch machine, atlas switches or peco. With the snap of a peco would the tortoise still give you that slow open and close which is more prototypical or does it still snap.

The PECO will still snap unless you either remove the spring or reduce the spring tension.

You can remove the Peco spring and eliminate the snap action of them when connected to a Tortoise.  The Peco would then operate exactly like an Atlas..
