Back at the A&N

Been running it for a year and have some changes and observations to make.

1. Peco is the best turnout I have used so far

2. Atlas works well if you work with the frogs on the code 83. I understand that the new ones are better then the 4 year old ones I used.

3. Digitrax was flawless from the start

4. Cork is better than foam BUT foam is easier to change out.

5. Rail-ops is still a pain.

6. Using (6) 5 amp boosters with (16) sub districts and using one just for the Tortoise power. Works perfect with no issue.

7. I was not CAREFUL in the use of insulation gaps so I have to trace out all the sub districts and find out why with the Quarter teat I trip (2) not one.

8. Soldering the curves is worth the time and effort.

9. A resistance soldering unit (American Beauty) is worth the money

10. Decoder Pro and Panel pro are a must and yes they work on a PC or MAC (running both now)

Well have fun. Just thought I would pass on the results of a Years worth of R&D.

How big is this layout? Mine is fair sizes with around 300 feet of rails and only use one 8 amp booster.

I will go along with that.

Would love to see some pictures as well.

Trackage is a little over 800 ft. 174 Turnouts, (2) 130ft Walther's Tables. Can keep (9) operators busy.

Setting is free lance around the PA coal area. Pictures where on one of my websites but Bandwidth caused them to be deleted for more business space. IF I get some new ones then I might get more space to add them.

PS see you are a car guy. Our Toys http://www.leatherique.net/lrpltd_collection.htm
