Viewing Pictures
Posted by C & O Steam on Wednesday, November 12, 2008 7:17 PM

What a major change since my last visit. Not sure that I am impressed. I guess MR had to keep up with  Mr. B's

Several post that I have looked at indicate there are pictures but for the life of me I can't find out how to pull them up. I have printed off the forum help and also tried a search but wasn't able to find any information.

Can someone help me out here?

Thanks,

MC

I have no problem seeing the pictures. Many have a bar acroos the top that you can click to enlarge them. What browser are you using? I believe you need IE7 or Firefox at the minimum. I'm using Firefox 3.

MC,

What are you seeing that indicates a thread has photos? There are no indicators on the list of threads that mean there are any photos in a thread.

I'm using IE6 and not having any problem viewing the pictures within the posts (?).

I have no problems seeing pictures in posts. Perhaps you have an overzealous ad blocker that thinks the ones inside a post are ads like the ones on the right? Or since pictures are all going to be links to a different site, your security software might be being too paranoid.

 Thanks for the response.

An example would be the post by HO Greg concerning Code 55 handlaid Switches. The reply's to his post indicates that there was a picture of the switch.I couldn't see anything in his post to indicate how to view the picture. The old format had a box to indicate a picture was included. What am I doing wrong?

I am using Foxfire 3 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. I just recently installed the internet security and was having the same problem before It was installed.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Do you see pictures on other sites? If not, there's a browser option to disable viewing inline pictures totally, which you may have turned on, or somehow managed to change what Firefox is supposed to do with a .jpg file type. Or you have the ad blocker add-in and have totally blocked this site.

That's easy to do. I know, I did it. I had to go back through AdBlockers undo list to find the instruction the blocked the site and erase it. It wasn't easy.

Clear the address bar and type in                    about:plugins

Hit enter and this will show what plugins you have with Firefox or IE in your PC.

Jeffery, Don Z, Mark and Randy:

Thanks for the help. I determined the problem was with Foxfire. I used IE to login and everything worked fine. Now I just need to learn how to down load some pictures so you guys can help me with my layout issurs.

Rick: I tried your suggestion and it showed that the plugin for Mozilla were not enabled. I wasn't able to enable it and then when I went back in,Mozilla was no longer on the list. Any idea what happened.

Thanks again guys for the help.

I have the same and my stepson does also and we can see the pictures. In Firefox I went to Edit, and then Preferences then  Content. There are four options.

Block pop up windows

Load images automatically

Enable java script

Enable java

All four should be checked.

I unchecked "Load images automatically" and I did not see the pictures in the messages anymore.
