Lineside Structures You Can Build is a Kalmbach book. It has plans for at least two turntables in it which look relatively simple to build. I have not attempted them yet, but it is on my list of things to do.

Buzzstr,
In the Index of Magazines at this site, you'll find the citations below. Also,
Diamond Scale Products:
http://www.diamond-scale.com
makes a a 54 foot gallows in HO. You might query them to learn if they have any intention of offering an O scale version.

Railroad Model Craftman's recent book on loco terminals, etc. has a plan of a SP NG gallows turntable. Also, see MAINLINE MODELER, Jan. 2002, Pg. 58; plans and construction article by Al Armitage.

See also Model Railroader, Sept. '65 - contains a S.P. NG. turntable, photos & drawings.

Kalmbach's Loco Terminals book contains a couple of articles on turntables. I built the "speaker jack" style for my little HO system. - a scratchbuilt gallows one!
