Good news folks,
I am starting my new layout tonight!
I am doing the Atlas HO-15 which is called the Minium-sixe twice around.
230 dollars at the hobby shop and a couple of Budweisers and I am underway.
Wish me luck and I will post my progress later.
Thanks for your advice John Galt.

I have been reliably informed that Rolling Rock is the better choice for layout builders, but this may be another of those scale-specific things.

You are absolutely right! Heres one on me.
John,
I would say have those brews while working; it'll be much more enjoyable!
Good luck to you; have fun.
It's the microbrews here in Idaho - - yum!
Rolling Rock, errrrr... isnt that just water with foam on it? Guess its something to ween the kids on
Now for a Man's drink that you can stand a knife in...
Have fun with your trains
Hello. I'm just getting started in the forum myself. Good luck with your layout and I can't wait to see some pics!

Nonsense! Why, I have done some of my finest track laying after a drink or two.

Le Fin Du Monde? sounds like "the Limp of Wrist" ???
Does that make it a "Manly Man" beer?
Of course my french is so bad it could say a fish dish with wine sauce
Sorry, but the words French & beer just dont go well together, like German & humor, British & dental-hygene, or Russian & high-tech...
