Alan,
I'm missing your weekly update. I hope you know that your posts are like talk radio, that is, a whole bunch of people listen, but only 2% actually call in to the show. It's easy to see if you look at the number of views versus the number of replies to your posts. Please keep us "talk radio" types up to speed on your layout. We all appreciate and applaud the amazing amount of railroad you have achieved in such a small space.
Thanks for the nice comments. Unfortunately; life is interfering with RR time right now. It has been four days since I even looked to see if the layout was still there [8D]. Hopefully, I will get back to the layout soon.
An update !

I got down to (and in) the train layout room today for the first time in two months. No work on the layout; however I did run some trains and everything worked great.

I think that I owe those of you that are/were following this thread a small explanation of what is happening here. No sympathy needed; just a small explanation.

Nine years ago, I had a large and very deep Melanoma removed from my left forearm (the scar looks like a shark bite).

Three months ago it returned with a vengeance. No major organs infected yet; however most of my lymph nodes are enlarged and I have one small ( 2") lump on my lungs. I am now tied to an Oxygen generator and have an estimated life span measured in months.

I will continue to operate the layout and do some construction work as I feel like it. I may (or may not) have any construction updates worth adding to the thread. If I do, I will update the thread.

Thanks to all for the encouragement over the last year. It has been fun and I hope to continue for a while with it.

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly
proclaiming- WOW what a ride!"

The skid has started. I hope that it is a long one.
