MR Track Plan Database
Posted by jlctrout on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 1:04 PM

Am I the only subscriber having trouble with this feature?  I've gone back and forth with MR assistance online, but cannot get the program to function.  Essentially we go around in a circle coming back to a cover photo and "opportunity" to open the table of contents for the issue containing the plan I wish to download - BUT, no download, and back around we go.  I guess this is not a "point to point" layout program!

I've had no problems downloading.

I'm in the same boat. MR doesn't even seem to read the emails. They just send form letters that are no help. I gave up.

It works for me.  At the home page, I scroll down to the Track Plan Database, I click on 'search' under all the filter selections (I leave them all at 'all').  Then comes up the plans.  I'm not a troubleshooter when it comes to computers so I can't offer more help than that.  Are you sure you're registered and logged in?  Good luck.

For me the program cycles pages and repeats.

I get to the magazine page or layout search page and it asks me to log in. It takes me to my account page which shows I am a subscriber. Then I click on the layout database and I am asked to log in. Which takes me to my account page. Then I click on the database and am asked to log in.

Works for me.

When you search for plans it looks as if it is just recycling but you have to scrool down the page as the heading is the same as the selection page.  It looks as if it is repeating.

It may help that I remain logged in so when I access the main page it remembers who I am.

Good luck.Angel [angel]

As far as I am concerned the entire Kalmbach RR web site is less than user friendly.  I have been subjected to Chip's description of a merry-go-round but not when accessing the track plan data base feature.

I believe that you need to be logged in AND have cookies enabled for the site (not generally - just for the MR site). Cookies come from one of these:

modelrailroader.com, trains.com, or cs.trains.com.

You may also need to enable javascript. Confused [%-)]

Which browser are you using BTW?

Try telling it to remember you when you log in, if you don't usually.  I had a similar problem with other parts of the site, and that seemed to help.  You might also try a different browser, just for fun.

Might help to delete all the cookies and start from scratch!  Didn't they just change the domain name a bit?  Maybe it is confusing the old and new cookies?

One thing I noticed is after I log in I refresh the screen with the remember me feature enabled and it seems to work just fine. Some browsers display the most recently viewed page as it saves time.
