Bachmann Spectrum Decoder Choices

I have a pair of GP-30's and a pair of FM H16-44's. They are Spectrum units, but when I remove the shells, all I see is a heavy 2 piece weight that needs to be split to get to the motor, and a light board in the top of the shell. Is that light board replaced with a decoder? There is not a plug anywhere on the loco. None of the DCC manufacturers sites I visit list anything for Spectrum diesels. I have visited the NCE site, as that is what I run in my other units, but they have nothing. I am not interested in sound at this time. I have P2K units that take a plug in decoder, and I have some Athearn Blue Box units that I hardwired. I can't believe there is so little info on what I thought to be a fairly common line of products. maybe I will contact Bachmann and see if they can help.
