Anyone have a line on glue pots like this?

A silly little wish...humor me.

I would like a glue pot with a lid and handle assembly.

This is from a "tyre" tools website in Australia.  Anyone know where I can get one like this in North America?  It is metal and holds 500 ml with a round brush through the lid.

The website also sells the lid and brush assemblies separately....but that is all a bit too far to order from.

Otherwise I would like to get a glue pot, metal, glass, plastic or otherwise with a brush attached to the lid.

I suppose I could always buy a few rubber cement bottles and throw out the rubber cement.  But they would take a bit of cleaning and are not as large as I would like.  However, if I found who makes these assemblies for the rubber cement people, perhaps I could get a hold of a box of unfilled rubber paste and brush bottles.

Micromark, Walters, and WS do not have anything similar.

  Hi Otis

How about a solvent type glue like Tennax at the LHS with the brush in the lid. I remember as a kid haveing paste for art class with a brush too. There are tons of things I use at work that have the brush in cap deals. (Neverseise,Pipe dope,Cat cement.) The list is endless.

Why not make your own? Get a jar with a lid, in the size you want. Buy a cheap paintbrush with a wood handle. Using a razor saw or hacksaw, cut off the wood handle to shorten it. Glue it to the inside of the lid using a big gob of construction adhesive, adhesive caulk, or Walther's Goo.

Or drill a hole in the lid the same diameter as the brush handle so you have a snug fit, insert the brush, then apply the adhesive from the outside.

Having the use of only one size brush will limit it's use. What's wrong with just selecting the brush needed for the particular job? Most of the brush in bottle glues that I've used or seen, tend to have a brush unsuitable for most work.
