I saw an article in an old Kalmbach how-to book on scenery that I have. It shows various methods for placing signs on buildings; and shows one method for making painted on signs using a product called "decal-it" that makes a decal of anything. Since the article first ran in Model Railroader in the 80s, I was wondering if this stuff is still made. Anyone know? They said it was for dechoupage modeling; whatever that is-what is it?
(and yes; I know about all the other methods for making painted on signs-sanding the sign, etc. So don't say "I use such-and- such method" etc.)

Here's an article on using the stuff. It says it's made by Plaid who is a craft paint mfg. Sounds like it's just a clear water based clear coat.
