I'm not sure if this is what you mean, but some times after a short, or a derail, I'll shut the system down , but when I turn it back on the throttle settings will stay the same as when the short happened, I found ( by accident ) that turning the handheld with the certain loco number back to zero, unplugging the handheld and plugging it  back in seems to reset it. ( I don't shut the system down when I do this.) I'm sure there's a better way, but it might work for you. Many times I want to save certain numbers when I shut down, I'll delete unwanted and add wanted, unplug, replug the handheld and shut off the system down. The new wireless system have a new type of save.

Hope I helped more than confused you.

Dennis.

The user manual is online at Model Rectifier Corp's website. I believe it does describe a way to restore the factory defaults. The website also has an excellent "insider's tips" documents for the Prodigy systems, written by one of MRC's lead engineers. It is a PDF that you can download and has a host of information that is not in the user manual.
