It is too good to be true, and it isn't. This is one of those "is your glass half full or not" deals. First the bad news. The kit is the scenery only, but lots of goodies; there is no track (its a crappy track plan anyway) or structures, there is mountains and roads and tunnel portals, etc. In fact, I think it is one of those great deals no one knows about. I am always recommending this kit to newbies.

So here is what you do. Find a track plan you like for a 4 by 8. Then buy the plywood and benchwork material and build it, then lay the track. Then buy this kit and you will find it has everything, and I mean everything you will need except structures. It comes with a 45 page manual on how to set it up (use the different scenery material). When you are done, you will be very good at making scenery.

After your scenery is in, add structures (which you'll need to buy).

The kit will save you lots of money, but more importantly, you won't have to think, its all done for you. Everything in it is Woodland scenic products sold separately so if you need more of something, you can get it.

I highly recommend it - especially for a newbie. You will have a superior layout than most if you use it.
