New layout plan
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, December 22, 2007 7:31 PM

After getting a lot of help fron SteinJR this is the plan we came up with. I am now trying to lacate the industries and roads. I can now bring in a cut of cars spot them, remove empties and set them out for pickup. One change that I am thinking of making is going tro a smaller diesel. I posted this question in the gen.discussion forum and most everyone suggests a 44ton unit. I was planning on using a SW7 but it may be too big.

An SW 7/8 should be fine, near as I can see.  I may be that you will need to only switch a single car in the odd instance.  Here is the length, coupler tip to coupler tip, of my P2K Walthers SW 8: 6 3/8"

Selector-thanks for the reply. You're probably correct that the SW7 will be OK.I was probably thinking of one of my older plans.Besides I spent a lot of time on the SW7 and it would be a waste not to run it.

Thanks again-Bob
