NEVER MIND! WE GOT IT!!
We are trying to put together some track from Woodland Scenics (Atlas N Snap Track) and we can't figure out how it attaches? The kit provided track and some little metal "sticks" that we assume should be used to attach each piece of track to the next, but....duh....we can't figure out how it works
Thanks in advance to anyone who can explain it to us!!
The Atlas Code 83 for a kit layout? Can you provide either an image or a link to the product at W/S's site? Otherwise, it should be as simple as sliding one half of the thin metal "joiners" onto one rail end, and then sliding the mating end of another rail piece into the other half. Obviously I am unfamiliar with your product, but that is usually how it works. In fact, the snap track, if they come in short pieces with plastic ties and ballast, or otherwise, usually have one joiner on one of the rails at each end of the sections so that attaching them is simply a press fit.
Sorry, I can't be of more help. You should get some answers if you are patient a while longer.
Hey, it's okay. Everyone has something they can't figure out. The "sticks" are rail joiners and they are used to connect the track and conduct current from track piece to track piece. The joiners should be on the tracks before you start (2 of them per piece of track. One should be on the rail opposite of the other.) You push the tracks together so that the joiner slips over the bare end of the next piece of track. The end result should look like this picture, except with the rails touching. And Selector, it is actually N-scale Code 55 that he is talking about.
Thank you!!
Maybe it's not "snap track" after all.
As it turns out the joiners were seperate from the track and were stuck together in sets of 4. They had to be cut apart before we could use them. Once we figured that out....we were good to go
Thank you both so much! This is our first train so I'm sure we'll be back
